UPGRADING CLARINDA DISTRICT SCHOOLS BRICK BY BRICK

Students in Clarinda District will soon have access to the first-rate classrooms and facilities they deserve, with work under way upgrading Oakleigh South Primary School.

Member for Clarinda, Meng Heang Tak MP today announced Renew Constructions had been appointed to build Oakleigh South Primary’s $8.847 million upgrade, which will help it deliver a 21st century education.

The upgrade will modernise this important local school, including the administration and classroom building. Oakleigh South PS is part of the Oakleigh Education Plan, which is working to transform education in the local area.

The Victorian Budget 2022/23 invests $1.8 billion to build new schools and improve existing schools to make sure our kids have the bright futures they deserve.

In the past eight years, the Victorian Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries. The Victorian Government is ahead of schedule in its commitment to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
